Some drawbacks of the Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad:
KOOTEK is known for kitchen and home organization products, so tech is not their main business. But, there are not a lot of complaints on this product, especially for the price range.
There are some complaints however with quality control. So there is a chance that you could get one with a defect on a USB port or something else, thankfully you can return it and get a replacement if you don't mind the wait.
According to some reviews it is not designed to support very heavy laptops, like 17-inch bulky dedicated gaming laptops that are very thick, but if you have one of those, you probably don't need an extra external cooling device.
