The Belkin Surge Protector is really good. You can turn 1 outlet into 12 surge-protected AC outlets with a compact power extension cord with an 8-foot cable. Get power to multiple computing devices and peripherals, from iPhones, tablets, and smartphones to laptops and projectors.

Here are some specs on the Belkin Surge Protector Power Strip:

-Light indicator

This convenient surge protector features a safety indicator light to put your mind at ease while charging. The "Protected" indicator light lets you know if your equipment is secure or if your outlet needs to be readjusted. Basically, two lights are better than one, a "protected" light, and an "on" light.

-Pivot outlets

Designed with 8 rotating outlets and 4 widely spaced stationary outlets, as well as an efficient cord-management system to provide you with a clutter-free desk and all-day power.

-5 Star Reviews

This surge protector has an 88% 5-star review on Amazon. That is a 4.8 out of 5 which is actually impressive for a product. So if you don't believe my experience (I have 3 for my office and 2 for my house) you can start reading all the 17,892 reviews. 15,688 being 5-star reviews.

-Full specs

4320-Joule surge protector, 6,000 volts maximum spike voltage, 15A AC (4 stationary outlets, and 8 rotating outlets), 125V, 1875W, and 150K Hz - 100M Hz EMI/RFI Noise Filter.

Some drawbacks of the Belkin Surge Protector Power Strip:

  • here are reports of defective units, so beware. Try the surge protector first to see if it works before plugging in any expensive item. I did not test any of mine when I first bought them, and thankfully they all work well, but I can't imagine what would've happened to my workstation if it hadn't worked.

  • It is kind of bulky, so if you want a slick and minimalistic surge protector this one is not for you.

  • The plugs in the middle are still too close to each other. If you want to plug some power adapters for some devices you might only be able to use two out of the four in the middle.

  • Belking gives you a $300K connected equipment warranty, but according to a lot of people, the process is tedious and they make it really hard for you to get that money if something happens, so I wouldn't personally count on that warranty.
